Morristown Memorial Hospital is one of a few hospitals in New Jersey that has small incision retinal surgery—including sutureless 23 and 25 gauge vitrectomy.  We performed the first vitrectomy using the brand-new, state— of–the Art , high-speed Alcon Accurus vitrectomy machine in the Fall of 2006. This new technology allows us to bring the newest and latest retinal surgery to our patients. The new instruments allow us to treat everything from complicated retinal detachments to delicate macular surgery right here in Morristown. This new out-patient surgery will help improve patient outcomes, minimize patient discomfort and shorten operating times.
